Striker makes Mickleover switch permanent after goal-laden loan spell
Mickleover have completed the permanent signing of striker Manni Norkett.
Norkett spent the second half of last season on loan at the Don Amott Arena from Boston United.
The former Manchester United and Nottingham Forest academy man scored 13 goals in 15 games.
Manager Gareth Holmes said: “Manni did really well for the club when he came in last season. (That) attracted a lot of interest, but he wants to improve and wants to score more goals. The club gave him a great opportunity to thrive and he knows what we are looking to achieve next season.”
Mickleover finished the season in 15th place in the Midlands Division, with Norkett’s 10 goals in the league for them only bettered across the season by Paddy Webb.
Norkett added: “It was in terms of my football that drew me back to Mickleover. Last season I was happy with my football, and that’s the most important thing to me and I enjoyed scoring goals again.
“The club has a lot of good prospects and if everything is done right, we can definitely make the step up. The area, facilities and fan base, I haven’t seen better in non-league.”
