Talented young forward becomes Gainsborough's first summer signing

Gainsborough Trinity have announced the signing of young forward Connor Brown from Lincoln United.

Brown becomes the Holy Blues' first new arrival of the summer, having impressed with a record of 16 goals in 34 appearances last season for his former club in the NPL East Division.

The 20-year-old, formerly of Lincoln United's academy, went on to join Nottingham Forest in 2021 and scored 19 goals in the U18 Premier League.

He progressed to the PL2 with Forest during the 2024/25 campaign and featured in the EFL Trophy against Morecambe.

"I'm absolutely buzzing to sign for Gainsborough Trinity," he said.

"It’s a great club, and I've heard nothing but good things about it. I can’t wait to get started!

“I am hoping to keep my momentum going from last year, which was my first year in men’s football.”

Gainsborough say Brown "demonstrated a clear desire to step up and test himself at the higher level", having been tracked throughout the latter part of last season by manager Russ Wilcox.

"We are delighted to have signed Connor," Wilcox said.

"He will be a great fit for our group. He’s young, hungry and got ambition to keep developing.

"We have shown that we develop players. Dec [Howe] and Will [Lancaster] being great examples, with both playing in the National League next season."

"I’m really looking forward to working with Connor."
