Vauxhall Motors continue recruitment drive with two new signings
Vauxhall Motors have made two new signings as they continue their battle to avoid relegation from the Pitching In NPL West Division.
Warrington Town defender Lewis Sinnott has joined former Yellows team-mate Mitch Duggan in making the move to the club.
Sinnott, a product of the Tranmere Rovers academy, featured for the National League North side during pre-season, having spent time with Litherland REMYCA during the 2022/23 campaign as part of his development.
The 22-year-old has seen his game time limited to just one Cheshire Senior Cup appearance this season, and it has now been decided that he will move onto new surroundings.
"From a personal point of view, my season has been up and down and not really settled, but once I got the opportunity to come down, I was keen on it," Sinnott said.
"After meeting the lads and training, they have good intentions and I'm looking forward to getting going."
Also making the move to the VanEupen Arena is former City of Liverpool man Connor Rankin.
Rankin made nine substitute appearances for the Purps, having previously been with NWCFL Premier Division side Lower Breck.
He spent time earlier this season with Nantwich Town, featuring 10 times for the Dabbers and scoring his only goal in their historic 3-2 win over National League York City in the FA Trophy third round.
On his new arrivals, manager Danny Holmes said: Lewis has got a wand of a left foot and communicates really well, which I feel we have lacked as a group.
"He's got a good pedigree, so we're looking for him to hit the ground running. He will buy into what we're doing, and I'm sure he'll become a valued member of the team.
"Connor will also add to the group massively.
"We've tried to get Connor previously but it didn't work out, so I'm delighted to finally get him.
"We know what he's about, and he has great qualities. I'm looking forward to seeing him bag goals in a Motors shirt."
The pair made their first starts for Motors during Saturday's 3-2 home defeat to Bootle - a result which leaves them 17th in the table, four points clear of the relegation zone.
