Warrington Rylands boss commits long-term future to club
Warrington Rylands have announced that manager Neil Reynolds has committed his long-term future to the club, signing a three-year contract extension.
Appointed in September 2024, Reynolds led the club to the NPL Premier Division play-off final during his first full season in charge.
They came within touching distance of promotion to the National League North but fell to a heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat to Hednesford Town.
The Blues ended the regular season fourth in the table, building on a debut campaign in the Gorsey Lane dugout which saw Reynolds' side secure a comfortable mid-table finish.
Despite missing out on promotion this time around, the club have decided that Reynolds is the man to spearhead another promotion challenge next term, handing him a deal which will run until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Speaking after Monday's play-off final defeat, Reynolds said: “It’s tough to take, but in this situation you’ve always got to congratulate the winners.
“When you lose the way we did on penalties, it’s always a kick.
“Their keeper makes an unbelievable save at 1-0, we then concede late on but we hit the bar in the 119th minute.
“We go to penalties - it’s the first one I’ve lost on penalties as a manager - but to come here today and remain unbeaten against a fantastic team gives us absolute determination to go and try to do it next season.
“We were a kick away from getting into the National League, and that’s a testament to all the work that goes on behind the scenes."
