Warrington Town lose defender to National League North

Warrington Town left-back Jack Doyle has completed a permanent move to National League North side Marine.

Doyle joined the Yellows on the eve of the 2025/26 season, having spent the previous six years at Southport.

He became one of the Sangrounders' longest-serving players, making 217 appearances during his time at Haig Avenue.

Following his move to Warrington, Doyle played 38 times for the club and scored twice.

Doyle's move to the division above leaves his former club without a recognised left-back, with just over one week to go until their league opener at Guiseley.

Two players to have featured in that position for the club last season, Matty Waters and Josh Shaw have moved elsewhere, while assistant manager Craig Noone played 45 minutes at left-back in their opening pre-season friendly against Widnes Town.
