Warrington Town make three new signings

Warrington Town have added three new players to their squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Gainsborough Trinity.

After a difficult start to the season which has seen the Yellows pick up just four points from their opening five league games and exit the FA Cup at the first hurdle, the club have acted quickly in a bid to turn their fortunes around.

Forward Jonas Mukuna, who made 16 appearances for Peterborough Sports in the National League North last season, has joined on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, striker Mark Isong has joined on an initial month-long loan from Bolton Wanderers and defender Aaron Pickles has signed on loan from Southport, initially until January.

The club's permanent addition, Mukuna, trained with the squad ahead of last weekend FA Cup defeat to Bamber Bridge but wasn't registered in time to play in that game.

The tricky winger, 20, was previously with Farnborough in the National League South, after spending time with Walsall and QPR as a youngster.

Irish forward Isong joined Bolton last autumn on a two-year deal from League of Ireland club Shelbourne.

As part of the Bolton B side, 19-year-old Isong has played alongside former Yellows loanee Dubem Eze.

Completing the trio is defender Pickles, who has first-hand experience of playing against his new club, having lined up for Southport against the club in the National League North last season.

The 20-year-old made 18 appearances for Accrington Stanley before making a permanent move to Southport in the summer.

The club have vowed to continue to "scour the market" in search of new additions.
