Widnes welcome back forward
Widnes FC have announced that forward James Steele has returned to the club following his departure from City of Liverpool.
Steele initially joined The Chemics back in 2019 from Newcastle Town and made 62 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals.
The 23-year-old then left the club in December 2021 for Runcorn Linnets, where he worked with Widnes boss Michael Ellison.
He then joined City of Liverpool in 2022. Ironically, his first and last appearances for The Purps were against Widnes.
Steele could make his debut on Saturday against Ramsbottom United. He has previously scored five goals in three games against them this season for City of Liverpool.
