Witton Albion sign forward duo from Linnets

Witton Albion have completed the signing of forward duo James Steele and Lewis Crane from Runcorn Linnets.

Steele established himself as one of the leading strikers in the NPL West Division during Widnes' 2024/25 title triumph, scoring 17 goals.

Across his two seasons with the club, Steele found the back of the net 35 times in 84 appearances.

On Steele's arrival, Witton boss Ben Harrison said: "He's a player we've been after for a while, and to bring someone of his calibre to the club sends out a statement of intent."

Also making the move to Wincham Park is Crane, who featured 18 times for Linnets last season.

He scored four goals during that time, including a hat-trick against Bury in the FA Trophy.

No stranger to Witton, Lewis is the nephew of club legend Mike Moseley, one of Albion's all-time leading scorers with 162 goals.

Steele and Crane become the club's first two signings of the summer.
