Workington's Billy Barr voted Manager of the Month for September
Workington boss Billy Barr has been voted September's Northern Premier League Manager of the Month.
Picking up some fine form towards the end of August which saw the Reds win four games in a row, Barr's men were victorious in both of their September league games, overcoming Ilkeston Town and Emley by a 3-1 scoreline.
They also enjoyed wins against Marske United and Blyth Spartans in the FA Cup and Trophy respectively.
As a result of claiming a maximum six points from six in the league, Workington rose from ninth at the start of the month to fifth by the end of it.
Billy Barr oversaw a remarkable turnaround towards the end of last season to ensure Workington's Northern Premier League survival, and they appear well-placed to challenge at the top end of the NPL Premier Division this time around.
Also on the shortlist for September's award were Redcar Athletic manager Carl Jarrett, Bury's Anthony Johnson and Guiseley boss Ian Richards.
