Hilton spent time in the Premier League side's academy from 2016-23 but was released last summer.
Much of Hilton's time at the Cottagers was spent playing for their U18s and U23s.
He also enjoyed a brief stint on loan at Finnish side TPS Turku in July 2021 before going on loan to Carlisle United last season.
However, he only made seven league appearances for the Football League outfit before his loan was terminated midway through the campaign.
He made his Bootle debut as a late substitute in last Friday's 3-1 defeat to Runcorn Linnets alongside fellow new recruit Ryan Bopda, who started in goal for the Bucks.
Bopda arrives at the club on dual-registration from National League side Altrincham.
