The full game was shown on the club’s Facebook page as part of their lockdown efforts to raise awareness and funds.
The game took place on Thursday June 6 1996 prior to the tournament, where the Czechs went all the way to the final, before losing to Germany with a golden goal from Oliver Bierhoff.
More than 2,300 people turned out for the unique occasion that saw the likes of Karel Poborsky, Pavel Nedved, Patrik Berger and Vladimir Smicer run out at Irongate.
Poborsky and Nedved scored in the first five minutes on their way to a 9-1 win, but football was the real winner. You can watch the full match on YouTube.
The match came about when a local hotel manager in Preston, where the Czechs were playing, asked Brig if they would be interested in playing in a pre-tournament friendly.
Meanwhile, Brig’s crowdfunding efforts have now passed the £6,000 mark.
