Championship striker makes Tigers switch

Hyde United have announced the signing of striker Joe McGlynn from Championship side Burnley.

McGlynn began his career with the Clarets’ youth setup, progressing through the ranks in the Under 18s and Under 21s.

The 19-year-old will be looking for more first-team experience, with Nick Spooner’s side sitting ninth, with three games in hand on current league leaders FC United of Manchester.

This will mark his second loan period of the season, following his recent spell with Oldham Athletic earlier this month.

McGlynn made his first start for the Tigers last night as they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Stafford Rangers.
