Doncaster goalkeeper comes to Gainsborough's rescue

Gainsborough Trinity have announced the signing of Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Ben Bottomley on a one-month loan deal.

The 21-year old becomes the latest player to don the gloves for the Holy Blues after injuries have ruled out Dylan Wharton and Luke Jackson, both on loan.

Bottomley joined the Rovers' Academy at the U16s level, and signed a professional deal with the League Two club in 2021.

Since then, the young 'keeper has gained invaluable experience from his time on loan at Lincoln United, Frickley Athletic, Pickering Town and Tadcaster Albion.

He will go straight into the line-up for Gainsborough Trinity's next match away at Hyde United on Tuesday night in the Northern Premier League.
