Double signing for Stalybridge

Stalybridge Celtic have announced the signing of Bebeto Gomes and Bruno Felipe ahead of the 2023/24 NPL season.

Gomes is a versatile player who can operate as a winger or full-back.

Born in Portugal, he has featured for numerous clubs in the English football pyramid including Stockport Town, Radcliffe, Daisy Hill and Pilkington FC, where he won the NCWFL First Division title last season.

On the signing of Gomes, Stalybridge Celtic manager James Kinsey said: "Bebeto is a player that can play in numerous positions.

"He’s a real threat in one vs one situations and he can defend really well too. He’s keen to push on and we’ve seen that he has a high work rate already."

Joining him at Bower Fold next season is midfielder Bruno Felipe.

Felipe was also a part of the Pilkington title-winning squad alongside Gomes and was also previously playing for Daisy Hill.

During pre-season, the midfielder featured against Stalybridge Celtic for Ashton United in the Keither Trudgeon Memorial Trophy where he scored the Robins' equaliser.

"Bruno has fantastic technical ability and will provide us with another option in midfield," James Kinsey said.

"He’s another who has had a lot of clubs after him this summer. It’s up to him to really push on now and bring strong performances to the table. He’s a technical player that can create something out of nothing."
