Fenton Green makes Leek Town switch

Before playing for 1874 Northwich, he was part of Crewe Alexandra’s academy. He has also had stints with Hyde United and Stockport Town.

Green scored three times in 30 appearances for the Townfield-based side during the 2022/23 campaign.

He has scored the same number of goals in just 13 appearances this term but has now decided to move on from the NPL West Division strugglers.

The 20-year-old, who is highly regarded by many at Step 4 level, scored against his new side at the end of October but was on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline.

He made his Blues debut in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Hanley Town, coming off the bench early in the second half.

That result saw them climb to third in the division - a point off league leaders Clitheroe with a game in-hand.
