Gainsborough Trinity land Seadogs defender

Jackson has been an ever-present since joining the Holy Blues on an initial one-month loan at the end of September.

His time at the club was extended by a further month on October 27, and the left-back has since penned a permanent deal to remain at the Northolme.

"I am really enjoying my football since I've been at Gainsborough," he said. "The group of lads and staff are great and have welcomed me, making it an easy transition.

"There's a lot of potential in the squad and I've been impressed with the standard, both in games and in training.

"It's just about making that form consistent now, which is what we've been able to achieve in the last couple of weeks."

The arrival of the 29-year-old has coincided with an upturn in form for Russ Wilcox's Trinity side.

Since he joined the club, they have lost just two of their seven league games, winning three times and drawing twice. They also went through the entire month of October without losing a Northern Premier League fixture.

Such form has seen them climb to 15th in the league table, six points clear of the relegation zone, after a difficult start to the season.

Jackson found himself on the scoresheet in the club's 5-3 win at home to Matlock Town, in what was just his second appearance.

"He’s been excellent since he arrived on loan, [showing] great versatility and experience.
