Jake Kenny swaps Bury for Stalybridge

Stalybridge Celtic have announced the signing of defender Jake Kenny from Bury.

The full-back, 27 is a former Pitching In NPL West Division title-winner with Atherton Collieries, and arrives at Bower Fold having made 84 appearances for Bury AFC over the last two seasons.

Kenny was named as one of Atherton’s players of the decade in 2019, having played in 157 games for Colls between 2014-19.

He has also represented Halifax Town, Salford City, Hindsford and Trafford throughout his career.

Stalybridge boss James Kinsey said: “Jake is another player that has experience of winning this league from his time with Atherton Colls.

“He can play on either side for us which is an added bonus, and he is really strong defensively.

“He was really keen to come in with us and we know what we are getting with him. At 27, he still has a number of great playing years ahead of him.”
