Lancaster sign goalkeeper on loan

Young Burnley goalkeeper Lewis Forshaw has joined Lancaster City on a short-term youth loan.

Forshaw will provide cover for regular number one Andre Mendes, who will miss the opening three games of the new season due to a suspension carried over from the 2022/23 season during his time at Ashton United.

A second year Burnley scholar, Forshaw has already featured for the Dolly Blues in pre-season during their 2-2 draw with Holker Old Boys last month.

He is set to gain further minutes when the club face a Fleetwood Town development squad in their latest pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.
