Latest Linnets signings confirmed

Runcorn Linnets have bolstered their ranks with the signing of defender Sam Barratt and goalkeeper Bayleigh Passant.

Barratt, who operates primarily at right-back, was most recently at Hanley Town. However, he suffered a dislocated shoulder early on during his time at the club and endured an injury-ravaged 2022/23 season.

Before then, he featured for Glossop North End, playing 39 times for the Hillmen following his arrival in August 2021.

He began his youth career with Stoke City before enjoying a two-year spell in Fleetwood Town's academy. A brief stint at Leek Town followed his time at Fleetwood.

Also joining Barratt at Linnets is Passant, who returns to the club after spending the last few seasons at Marine.

During his time on Merseyside, Passant made over a century of appearances, 50 of which came last season. He also started the Mariners' memorable FA Cup third round tie against Premier League Tottenham Hotspur in January 2021.

However, it was confirmed last month that Passant who be one of a raft of players released by Marine as they look to overhaul their squad.

One player who won't be at the Millbank Linnets Stadium is fellow shot-stopper Danny Taberner.

The former Atherton Collieries number one returned to Linnets ahead of the previous campaign and went on to make 52 appearances.

However, the club have announced that he will move onto new surroundings after accepting an offer to play higher up the non-league pyramid.
