Macclesfield learn fate in FA Trophy fifth round draw

Macclesfield will visit National League South high-flyers Hampton & Richmond in the last 16 of this season's FA Trophy.

The tie is rewards for their impressive 5-0 thrashing of National League side Dorking Wanderers in the previous round on Saturday.

A brace from Tunde Owolabi helped the Silkmen on their way to a comfortable win at a raucous Leasing.com Stadium.

Speaking after Saturday's victory, manager Alex Bruce said his players had "set the standard" for the remainder of the season.

Their hosts in the next round, meanwhile, advanced 4-2 on penalties after their trip to National League Hartlepool was goalless at the end of regular time.

They currently sit joint-second in the National League South, 13 points adrift of runaway leaders Yeovil Town.

Macclesfield are the only remaining Northern Premier League side in the competition, after Radcliffe and Nantwich Town were knocked out in the fourth round by Barnet and Solihull Moors respectively.

Games will take place on Saturday 10 February, with winners receiving £6,000 and losers £1,750.
