Macclesfield secure West Division

The Northern Premier League congratulates Macclesfield FC as the Silkmen sealed the Pitching In NPL West Division title with a 3-1 win against Trafford.

Joining the NPL this season after the former Town name left as League Champions in 1987, the Moss Rose side have yet to drop below 3,000 fans this season, and with the fire power of current leading goalscorer James Berry and a 17-game unbeaten streak going back to November under Neil Danns following the departure of David McNabb.

Combined with 17 clean sheets, the title was confirmed after the final whistle at Clitheroe following Leek's defeat at Shawbridge, and the Silkmen will be looking to add the Macclesfield name once again to the Northern Premier League trophy next season.
