Macclesfield unveil new manager

Macclesfield have appointed David McNabb as their new first team manager.

The announcement comes following the departure of former boss Danny Whitaker, who was relieved of his duties following Saturday’s defeat to Guiseley.

Former Warrington Rylands boss McNabb will fill the vacancy, with the club aiming to improve upon a run of two defeats in their last three home matches.

McNabb had great success with Rylands following his arrival in 2018.

He managed the side to three promotions during his stay, as well as a memorable FA Vase triumph at Wembley.

"It's a massive, massive club, and I'm honoured to be here," McNabb said. "I'm excited to get started now and meet the lads.

"The way I like to play obviously attracts a club like this, and hopefully we can pick up some good results and achieve our goals this season."

The Silkmen sit three points clear at the top of the Pitching In NPL West Division, with a game in hand on many of the teams below.

They are next in action at home to Workington on Tuesday night.
