Morpeth move for Stockport County forward

Morpeth Town have announced the signing of Nic Bollado following his release from Stockport County.

Bollado, 19, began his career at Carlisle United, making his professional debut in a 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town in the EFL Trophy in 2022.

He signed for Stockport County in July 2023, before joining FC United of Manchester on loan where he went on to make 14 appearances, scoring on three occasions.

A North-East native, he now moves back home to play for Craig Lynch's Highwaymen.

Speaking about his move: "I wasn’t enjoying my football where I was.

"I had spoken to (Craig Lynch) about coming to training during pre-season so when the opportunity came about again I was more than happy to come on a permanent basis.

"I know how big of a club Morpeth is in the north-east and I just wanted to come in and get to work to hopefully push us up the league.

"It was my first taste of men’s football as such, bar games there and then, at FC United so it is good experience and it becomes more normal as I’m amongst it every week."

Bollado will go straight into contention ahead of Morpeth Town's Newcastle Flooring Senior Cup clash against Blyth Town at Craik Park on Tuesday evening.
