Nantwich Town star makes Rylands switch

Nantwich Town have confirmed that Sean Cooke has left the club to join Northern Premier League rivals Warrington Rylands.

With 114 goals in 343 appearances across three spells, the midfielder is the fourth-highest scorer in Dabbers history.

He has finished as the club’s top goalscorer on three occasions, most recently last season, and was also part of the 2018/19 League Team of the Season.

He is also the son of former manager Dave Cooke, who parted company with the club last month after over five years in charge.

Cooke won the Cheshire Senior Cup on three occasions and was part of the only three Dabbers sides to reach the Emirates FA Cup first round proper.

He leaves a side which is currently 18th in the table, with just one win from their last five league matches.

Rylands, meanwhile, are unbeaten in five games and sit two points off top spot.
