New boys Shildon impress on opening day

Shildon A.F.C. opened their 2021/22 account with a 4-0 win at home over Pickering Town in the Northern Premier League East Division.

It’s the highest level the club as ever played at, and Will McCamley opened the club's account with a penalty on the 34th minute, followed by goals from Joe Posthill and two from Chay Liddle.

The game also saw two red cards for Shildon's Ben Trotter and Pickering Town's Ben Clappison.

Yorkshire Amateur opened their new campaign with an impressive 0-3 win away from home at Worksop Town, with goals from Fernando Moke, Roy Fogarty and T'Nique Fishley.

There were three 2-0 wins for Liversedge, Marske Unite and Ossett United against Lincoln United, Cleethorpes Town and Pontefract Collieries respectively.

Elsewhere, Lee Frecklington's goal from the penalty spot sealed a 0-1 victory for Frickley Athletic at Hebburn Town, while Brighouse Town and Dunston shared the points with a 0-0 result.

Stocksbridge Park Steels also drew 0-0 with Stockton Town, while Tadcaster Albion and Sheffield FC resulted in a 2-2 draw.
