NPL Midlands Division leaders bolster ranks

Midfielder Ashley Sammons has returned to Halesowen Town following his departure from Stratford Town.

He previously featured at the Grove, scoring nine goals in 41 appearances.

A former fan favourite, Sammons could make his second debut for the club on Boxing Day when the current Pitching In NPL Midlands Division league leaders visit Sutton Coldfield Town.

Yeltz joint-manager Martin Sockett said: “As soon as we knew Sammo was available, we moved very quickly to get him back at the club.

“He has many qualities which will strengthen the group, along with the vast experience he brings.”

On his return, Sammons added: “I am really happy to be back to attend to unfinished business at the club.

“We are in a really good position and I want to help the team and the club achieve its objectives.”
