NPL preview | Saturday 11 November

By James Gordon

With cup duties for many teams in the Northern Premier League over recent weeks, a full round of fixtures returns to the fore this Saturday.

Runaway leaders Radcliffe are in action at the Neuven Stadium against Gainsborough Trinity.

The Boro could go 10 points clear at the top with a win, but it won't be an easy task against a Holy Blues side that have enjoyed a mini-resurgence of late, losing just one of their last six matches in all competitions.

Nearest rivals Warrington Rylands visit an Ilkeston Town side with their sights set on putting pressure on the top five.

Ilkeston will come into this fixture buoyed by a dramatic 3-2 win at Atherton Collieries last time out - a match which they trailed 2-1 heading into the final 10 minutes.

Things don't get any easier this weekend for a Colls side rooted to the foot of the table. They visit Worksop Town, who thrashed mid-table Morpeth Town 7-0 on Tuesday night.

Having picked up three points on their travels last weekend, new Macclesfield boss Alex Bruce takes charge of his first home game as Whitby Town visit Cheshire.

The Silkmen sit on the fringes of the play-off spots and would climb into a top-five position this Saturday, should they win and Hyde United fail to beat Marske United at Ewen Fields.

Elsewhere, fourth-placed Ashton United will look to end a four-game winless run and get themselves back on track with a trip to Marine, while play-off-chasing Guiseley host a Workington side that haven't taken to the field since a 3-0 defeat at Marske on Tuesday 24 October.

All fixtures will take place on Saturday 11 November at 3pm, unless stated otherwise.
