Parry honoured to land Worksop job

New Worksop Town manager Craig Parry says he wants to create a team the supporters can be proud of.

Parry was tempted to join the Tigers, along with the rest of his management team, from Pontefract Collieries and replaces Kyle Jordan at the helm.

He told the club’s official website: “After a whirlwind few days, my management team and I are honoured and delighted to be joining Worksop Town.

“After managing against the club at various times over the last few years, we saw first-hand the fantastic support that gets behind the team both home and away and we can’t wait to get started. Our first job will be to connect the team to the supporters and give you a team that you can be proud of.

“We understand that in recent times some of the off-field actions have taken the headlines, but hopefully we can put the focus where it should be and that’s on the field.

“The brilliant fan base, the size of the club and the opportunity to work with the chairman were obvious appeals in our decision and we can’t wait to get started.

“Hopefully over the coming months, once it’s safe to do so, we’ll get to meet you all face to face and outline our plans and answer any questions you all may have.

“We’re proud to get the chance to manage such a big club and we are excited to be here.  The hard work starts for us, immediately.”
