Premier Division round-up: Belper stun Stafford, Whitby off the mark

The Nailers picked up their first win of the season, with goals in either half from Luke Mangham and Alex Peterson helping them to a 2-1 win at Marston Road.

Rangers’ slip-up allowed Ashton United to join them at the summit of the division on 13 points, with Jack Kenny’s 77th-minute winner earning them three points away at Hyde United.

At Mariners Park, South Shields secured their second 1-0 victory of the Bank Holiday weekend as Robert Briggs’ superb second half strike saw them past Morpeth Town.

Marske United had to settle for a goalless draw at home to Whitby Town, who picked up their first point of the season, while Warrington Town returned to winning ways on derby day as Isaac Buckley-Ricketts’ double - the second of which came six minutes from time - earned them a 2-1 victory over Nantwich Town at Cantilever Park.

Nivaldo scored a late winner for Radcliffe as they beat FC United of Manchester 2-1 at Broadhurst Park.

Luca Navarro had given Boro the lead from the penalty spot before the hosts responded in the 72nd minute through the division’s top scorer Regan Linney.

Warrington Rylands picked up their second victory and second clean sheet of the weekend as David Webb’s first half goal was enough to beat Marine 1-0 in the battle of the newly-promoted teams.

Elsewhere, Guiseley were beaten 1-0 at home by Bamber Bridge, while Alex Byrne’s 90th-minute equaliser earned Matlock Town a late point against Gainsborough Trinity.

And at the Giant Axe, Lancaster City played out a goalless draw with Atherton Collieries.
