Robins swoop for James Hardy

Macclesfield midfielder James Hardy has joined Ashton United on a short-term loan.

The Robins currently sit 6th in the Northern Premier League, only one point behind the Silkmen at the time of securing Hardy’s services on a three-month deal.

Hardy has made five appearances for Macclesfield in the NPL this season, scoring once.

“Everyone at the club would like to wish James all the best during his loan with the Robins,” a Macclesfield statement read.

The 27-year old will arrive at the Robins with great pedigree and experience, having played at League two, National League and National League North level.

Hardy spent time in his early years at Manchester City’s academy, before spells at the likes of AFC Fylde, FC Halifax town, Walsall, Altrincham and Chester.

He goes straight into contention to play in Tuesday night's home fixture against Bradford Park Avenue.
