Scott Brown enjoying life in the Northern Premier League with Warrington Town

Warrington Town loanee Scott Brown has said he is enjoying life in the Pitching In Northern Premier League following his move from League Two’s Harrogate Town.

Brown links up with Paul Carden for his second stint on a season-long loan, having featured at Cantilever Park last season.

The 35-year-old has featured in all three of the club’s league games so far this season, including the recent 2-0 victory over Atherton Collieries.

And the Yellows, with Charlie Albinson between the sticks and skipper Mark Roberts at the back, are yet to concede their first goal this season and sit at the top of the table with three wins from three.

“I’ve enjoyed it, it’s competitive,” Brown said, speaking of his time in the league.

“Once I get back to full fitness then hopefully I’ll enjoy it a lot more and hopefully I can help the club gain another promotion.

“We couldn’t have started any better in terms of results and I think there’s a lot more to come on top of that as well.

“We look very good in all positions and there’s good competition for places, so I think as the season goes on we will keep improving.

“Tuesday we played some great stuff against a team that sat 11 behind the ball. We were patient and eventually the goals came and another clean sheet as well. If we are going to be successful this season, we need to keep that focus and consistency.”

Brown was a part of the Warrington side last season that only fell to five defeats, sitting in third place before the season was postponed due to coronavirus.

“I enjoyed it here last year,” Brown said.

“Cards (Paul Carden) and Bees (Mark Beesley) had a great set of lads and with only five games beaten in the season, I fully believed they would have went up.

“I think this squad is stronger and they’ve done some great work in recruiting again for another promotion push.

“I had a few offers that my agent and I was waiting on in the National League, but it came down to ifs and buts and I haven’t got time for that. I want to play football for someone who wants me and where I’m going to enjoy it and I feel I get that here with the manager, staff, chairman and all the lads.”
