Sporting Khalsa claim win in seven-goal thriller

Sporting Khalsa claimed a 4-3 victory at home over Yaxley in the opening day of the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

Jake Gosling scored a brace in the first half both from the penalty spot, with teammates James McGrady and Michael Perks also scoring to claim the league points at home.

Elsewhere in the division, Coleshill Town scored four for a 0-4 result at Wisbech Town, with goals from Joseph Phillips, Liam Molesworth, Kai Tonge and Paul Hathaway.

Bedworth United opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Corby Town, and Belper Town sealed a 2-1 victory over Histon at home.

Lewis Wright and Kyle Finn helped Halesowen Town to a 1-2 victory at Cambridge United.

Daventry Town and Chasetown drew 2-2, while Shepshed Dynamo and Carlton Town shared the points with a 1-1 result.

Spalding United defeated Loughborough Dynamo 2-1 at home with goals from Marcus Maddison and Scott Floyd, and Billy Bennett scored a brace and one more from Alexander Troke helped Ilkeston Town to a 1-3 victory at Stamford.

Sutton Coldfield Town won 2-0 at home to Soham Town Rangers.
