Stafford secure striker

Stafford Rangers have announced the signing of John Atherton from Rushall Olympic.

Atherton, 25, previously played his football at NPL side Chasetown and Southern Premier League team Bromsgrove Sporting.

The striker links up with Stafford Rangers ahead of their FA Trophy third qualifying round fixture against Spalding United tomorrow, where he will go straight into contention.

Manager Matt Hill will be hoping his new acquisition can bolster his attacking options and extend Boro's lead at the top of the table.

Radcliffe, who sit behing Stafford in second place, are currently level on points and goal difference, with 21 points and a positive four goal ratio, respectively.
