Stalybridge announce latest summer signing

Stalybridge Celtic have announced the signing of former Macclesfield defender Louis Danquah.

The 24-year-old becomes manager Chris Willock’s latest summer signing as preparations continue to take shape ahead of the 2022/23 Pitching In NPL Premier Division season.

Danquah began his career in Nottingham Forest’s academy before joining Mansfield Town in 2014, where he progressed through their youth ranks.

He signed a two-year professional contract with the Stags in 2016, aged 18.

Since leaving the club in 2018, he has played for Carlton Town, Kidderminster, Belper Town, and more recently Macclesfield.

Known as an athletic player who is comfortable on the ball, the left-sided defender will boost the Celts’ defensive options ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Discussing the move, Danquah said: “After meeting the clubs staff and players, I feel like this is a club that can move forward this season and i'm aiming to bring success back to club.”
