Worksop boss resigns

Craig Denton has resigned as Worksop Town manager, the club has confirmed.

The Tigers have had a decent start to life back in the NPL, winning three games from six so far.

They won the North Counties East League Premier Division and Cup last season.

Denton’s last game was the 3-1 win at Carlton Town on Saturday.

A statement said: “The club would like to place on record our thanks to him for his contributions for the last 16 months, including our incredible 22 winning run last season which resulted in a Northern Counties Eastern League League and Cup double and our return to the Northern Premier League after five years.”

Playing trio Steve Woolley, Craig Mitchell and Kyle Jordan will take charge for Saturday’s game against Belper Town.

They will remain in charge until a new first team manager is named.
