Worksop crowned East Champions

East Division secured with 30 match Unbeaten streak

The Northern Premier League congratulates Worksop Town as the Tigers sealed the Pitching In NPL East Division Title with a 4-1 win against Tadcaster Albion.

Worksop. who earlier in the season set the Consecutive wins record (19) received the return to Step 3 football from Jamie Walker at Long Eaton, who's late winner against Hebburn Town gave the Tigers the final step up towards the title.

With the help of leading Goal scorer Liam Hughes and a now 30 game unbeaten streak stretching back to the 16th August, they have held the top spot of the table since jumping over Stockton Town on November 22nd who were the only side to defeat Worksop this season on the Opening Day.

Bridlington Town were the only side able to deny them a win this campaign following their 2 draws on August 23rd and January 14th

Worksop will be looking to replicate their last appearance in the Premier Division 10 years ago in which they reached the Playoffs before their resignation from the League.

The season's merits may not be over as the club's unbeaten streak is only 2 off the All-Time NPL record of 32 set by Boston United set in 1972/73.
