The midfielder began his career in the youth ranks with Southport before making a break into the first-team, going on to sign with Blackburn Rovers following a successful trial.
Whilst at Rovers, Aley featured for Morecambe and Macclesfield Town on loan.
He has since featured for Warrington Town and Ashton Town, and has previously worked with now-Purps manager Michael Ellison while at Runcorn Linnets.
Ellison said: “Zac is a really good addition to the squad, he’s got a great left foot on him and can play in a number of positions.
“He’s a great lad in and around the dressing room and I’m looking forward to working with him again at the Purps."
