Ashington appoint new manager
Ashington have announced the appointment of Marc Ellison as their new manager on a permanent basis.
Ellison, alongside Karl Ross, took charge in an interim capacity back in January following the club's decision to part ways with Nick Gray after less than 18 months in charge.
The pair went on to guide Ashington to a 14th-place finish in the NPL East Division, picking up 25 points from their 16 games at the helm.
Following a positive end to the season, the club have acted swiftly to retain the services of Ellison moving forward.
"Marc’s work, commitment and the response from the dressing room made this a straightforward decision, and we’re pleased he will lead the club forward," Ashington said in a statement.
"Everyone at Ashington AFC congratulates Marc on his appointment, and looks forward to the next chapter under his management.
"Karl Ross also played an important part in that run, and the club would like to place on record its thanks for his support and contribution during that period."
