Avro manager Grant Shenton leaves club
Avro have confirmed that Grant Shenton has left his role as manager, in order to take up an opportunity in the National League North.
First team coach Mark Dickinson will also depart, following an approach for the pair from a side in the league above.
Shenton was named first team manager in August 2025, having been with the club as a player since July 2022. During that time, he made just shy of 150 appearances for the Ro, helping them secure promotion to Step 4 in 2023.
But in his first season at the helm, Shenton went one step further by leading the club to the NPL Premier Division, securing promotion via the West Division play-offs.
They have made a dream start to their first-ever season at Step 3 too, and Shenton departs with Avro sat second in the division, one point adrift of league leaders Cleethorpes Town.
They have also scored a league-high 28 goals so far, losing just one of their opening nine league games.
In a club statement confirming the departure of both Shenton and Dickinson, Avro said: "Grant and Mark have done an amazing job in their time at the helm of the first team, and they depart with our very best wishes."
The club say applications for the vacant managerial position will open at midday on Friday, adding that they hope to make an appointment "as soon as is realistically possible".
