Former Love Island star Clare signs for Hyde
Hyde United have announced the arrival of forward Tom Clare, who joins the Tigers after two separate spells with Macclesfield.
The 26-year-old was one of the Silkmen’s first signings following their reformation in May 2021, making an instant impact with 23 goals during the 2021/22 season.
Leaving midway through the following campaign to appear on the ninth series of Love Island, a move backed by then-boss Robbie Savage, Clare made his return to Moss Rose in March 2024 after winning the first series of Love Island: All Stars earlier in the year.
Clare, 26, is an experienced player right across the non-league pyramid, having also represented Pontefract Collieries, Bradford Park Avenue and Boston United.
He becomes manager Michael Clegg’s latest signing of the summer, following the arrivals of midfielders Ben Hough and Danny Gardner- plus returning goalkeeper Jordan Eastham.
The Tigers narrowly avoided relegation last season after an impressive end to the campaign, claiming 11 points from their final five fixtures to finish 15th.
