Huge Boxing Day crowd watch Bury make it three wins in a row
A crowd of more than 5,000 saw Bury defeat Clitheroe 2-0 to climb up to third in the NPL West Division table on Boxing Day.
A total of 5,337 supporters packed into Gigg Lane to watch the Shakers record a third successive win under interim boss Tim Lees.
Friday's attendance was the eighth-highest of all time in the Northern Premier League - and just the third since the turn of the millennium to surpass the 5,000 mark.
Bury have also said that their Boxing Day attendance marks the highest crowd figure for an NPL West Division fixture.
Rustam Stepans' penalty shortly before half-time put Bury ahead, before a long-range strike from on-loan Wigan Athletic attacking midfielder Leo Graham - whose deal with the club was extended in the hours after the game - put the hosts in control.
The Shakers will end the calendar year third in the table, two points behind second-placed Avro and seven adrift of leaders Lower Breck.
"It was a great performance. In the first half, I thought we were slightly the better team," Lees said post-match.
"In the second half, I thought we were in full control and looked really dangerous every time we came forward. Most of the game was played in their half.
"To be honest, we could've scored more. Another clean sheet, three wins on the bounce, I think we're in a good position."
