Stalybridge Celtic add experience and youth to their pack with two new signings

Stalybridge Celtic have announced the signings of defender Mike Koral and forward Dylan Scott.

Koral, 32, makes the move to Bower Fold after spending the previous three seasons as captain at Witton Albion, his second spell at the club, where he made 127 appearances.

The experienced full-back, who came through the ranks at Crewe Alexandra, began his career at Congleton before joining Albion for his first stint ahead of the 2014/15 season.

Since then, he has added clubs such as Runcorn Town, Droylsden, Winsford United, 1874 Northwich and Nantwich Town to his repertoire.

Speaking about his move to Stalybridge, Koral said: "Stalybridge Celtic is a huge Club and I’m thrilled to have signed.

“It’s a great opportunity to work with Jon again, and I’m really looking forward to the season ahead. Hopefully, we can make it a successful one for everyone involved.”

Celts manager Jon Macken, who worked closely with Koral during his time in charge at Witton Albion, added: "Mike is someone we know really well, so I’m really excited to have him join us at Celtic.

“He’s a top player and a brilliant person to have in our team. He’s got lots of experience and will really add to our defensive personnel. He’s a great leader and someone I think the fans will really take to.”

Joining him in Tameside for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign is striker Dylan Scott.

The 19-year-old has spent the past six years in Burton Albion's academy, featuring five times for the first team in the EFL Trophy and League One.

During his time at the Brewers, the youngster enjoyed multiple loan spells at the likes of Hanley Town, Mickleover and Leek Town, making 39 senior appearances, before his release from Burton at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

“I am buzzing to be joining such a massive club after some conversations with both Jon Macken and Brandon [Newell],” Scott said, who links up with his good friend, and current Celts midfielder Brandon Newell.

“It’s clear to see how highly Brandon talks about the club and the fans, so it was a no-brainer. I can’t wait to get going in pre-season.”

Jon Macken added: "Dylan is a really talented young striker with a lot of potential. We think he fits how we want to play really well, and importantly, he’s a good lad and will fit our squad nicely.

“He’s had a taste of senior football already and showed what he can do at Hanley, so we’re excited to have him at the Club and to watch him develop with us.”
