Two shrewd forward additions at Bishop Auckland

Bishop Auckland have announced the signings of Dean Thexton and Michael Fowler ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Thexton returns to his hometown club for his second spell, after departing the club at the end of their 2023/24 title-winning season, finishing as top goalscorer.
The former Shildon marksman joined Newton Aycliffe for 2024/25, and went on to score 20 goals in 44 appearances as the Cliffe narrowly missed out on the play-offs, finishing sixth.
Joining him at the Vest Construction Stadium next season is new forward counterpart Fowler.
The 24-year-old striker was most recently plying his trade at Stockton Town, where he has spent the previous two seasons.
During his time at the MAP Group UK Stadium, Fowler made 86 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net 24 times.
The Anchors recently unveiled former Hebburn Town striker Amar Purewal as their first summer signing, days after Fowler's exit from the club was confirmed.
Prior to this, former Sunderland, Burnley and Fleetwood academy player Fowler enjoyed loan spells with Guiseley, Bamber Bridge and FC United of Manchester, before moving to the United States to link up with Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
He returned to the UK in June 2023 to sign for Dunston.
