Dream coming true for Gordon

Stafford Rangers forward Josh Gordon is on the brink of leaving the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League for Champions League Quarter-finalists Leicester City.

Signed from EVO-STIK NPL top flight rivals Nantwich Town earlier this season, the 23-year-old is being tipped to sign for the Foxes as early as Monday after missing three fixtures over the last two weeks to impress during a second trial at the King Power Stadium.

The former Stoke City youngster featured for the Premier League champions in an U23s fixture against Nottingham Forest earlier in the season and looks unlikely to add to his tally of 11 goals as leading scorer after being absent for the club's draw with Whitby Town in the EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division on Saturday.

Before seeing his side held 0-0 at Marston Road, Rangers manager Neil Kitching said: “It’s been sorted as we speak. Agents are going through the paperwork as we speak and it should be completed in the next 48 hours or so.”

Gordon will be the second EVO-STIK NPL graduate this year to secure a move to the top level after his former Newcastle Town teammate Cohen Bramall bagged a sensational move from Hednesford to Arsenal in January.
