New contracts for Grimsby Borough management trio

Barrett and Drury have been at the club for nine seasons, helping the Wilderness Boys from the bottom of the Lincolnshire Football League to Step 4 of the football pyramid.

Last season, they helped guide the club to an 11th-place finish, with 15 wins and five draws.

The pair will go into their third consecutive season in the Northern Premier League, alongside head coach Mark Westerby, who joined the management team midway through the 2023/24 season.

Speaking about his contract extension, Barrett said: "I'm very happy to sign a contract at the club and it shows the direction in which the club is moving.

"I’m personally looking forward to my 9th season with Boro and what better way to spend it with your best friends doing something you love and enjoy."

Assistant manager Scott Drury added: "I'm really happy to be given the opportunity to work at Grimsby Borough Football Club, alongside some really close friends, for another year.

"I'm relishing the opportunity to move this club forward as we enjoy some exciting changes off the pitch."

Mark Westerby echoed the sentiments of Barrett and Drury, stating: "I'm absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue coaching at this level, within an established football club.

"I have really enjoyed the challenge and experience of working with the existing strong group of players and staff. With a new Board in place we're all keen to build on last season and bring success."
