Four players to leave Bradford Park Avenue

Bradford Park Avenue have announced the departure of four players, including long-serving midfielder Jamie Spencer.

Spencer first joined the club in 2016 and has made over a century of appearances across two spells.

The former Huddersfield Town youth midfielder's first stint came to an end in 2019, before he returned to the Horsfall Stadium from Guiseley in June 2022.

He played 31 games in the National League North - despite missing a large portion of the season due to injury - as the Green Army were relegated on the final day of last season, before going on a agree a new one-year deal to remain at the club last summer.

However, in September it was announced that he required surgery on a damaged ACL, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.

One player whose time at the club has been far more brief is former Chesterfield man Jamie Sharman, who only signed a deal with the club in mid-January.

Formerly of Matlock Town, he leaves West Yorkshire having featured just twice.

Avenue have also announced that Justin Iwobi and Ethan Vaughan have returning to their parent clubs following respective loan spells from FC Halifax Town and Bootle.

On the signing front, the club are hopeful of bringing in reinforcements ahead of Saturday's trip to promotion-chasing Warrington Rylands.

They currently sit nine points from safety, having picked up just three league wins all season.
