McNulty appointed Bootle manager

Richardson was relieved of his duties following Tuesday night’s 4-1 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Congleton Town.

A statement said: “The committee would like to thank Brian and his coaching staff for all of their work and commitment over the last season.”

McNulty, 38, was announced later on the same day as his replacement and brings a wealth of experience to the club.

During his playing career, he featured for Barrow, Fleetwood Town, Luton Town, Tranmere Rovers and York City, before a stint in the Northern Premier League with Witton Albion.

At the back end of 2021, McNulty went to Chester as assistant manager and was registered as a player.

His first game in charge will be away at Trafford in the Pitching In Northern Premier League West Division on Saturday.
