New forward joins Cleethorpes Town

Cleethorpes Town have announced the signing of experienced striker Luke Hinsley.

The 33-year-old arrives at the Owls after departing fellow Pitching In NPL East Division side Pontefract Collieries at the end of last season.

He made eight appearances for Colls, as well as scoring goals during brief spells at Tadcaster Albion and Sheffield earlier in the campaign.

Hinsley is best known for his time at Frickley Athletic, but has also played for Buxton and Matlock Town.

He started last season at Hyde United but left before making a first team appearance.

"We’re very pleased to have Luke on board," Owls joint-managers Tim Lowe and Liam Dickens said.

"He gives us a different dimension with his physicality, and also comes with vast experience.

"Luke is a real character, who has settled in well with the lads. We look forward to seeing him in a Clee shirt, scoring plenty."

Discussing his move to the club, Hinsley said: "I'm over the moon to have signed for Clee.

"After speaking with Tim & Liam, it was an easy decision for me.

"The club and management have massive ambitions, so I’m pleased to be a part of it. I can’t wait for the season to start."
