Rams land ex-City stopper Albinson

Ex-Manchester City keeper Charlie Albinson is in the Ramsbottom United squad taking on EVO-STIK Northern Premier League rivals Prescot Cables in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

The Bolton-based 20-year-old, pictured, was snapped up by joint manager Paul Fildes and Mark Fell on Friday ahead of their first qualifying round tie at home to their EVO-STIK NPL First Division North rivals.

the 6ft 3in stopper left the Premier League giants in the summer and has been training with League One Bury. In a statement announcing the signing coup, delighted Rams officials said he would continue to train with the League One club while turning out at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium.

Albinson regularly featured for the youth set-up at the Etihad Stadium in the UEFA Youth League as well as starring in City's run to an FA Youth Cup against Chelsea in 2015.
