Runcorn Linnets land talented forward

Bamber Bridge forward MacKenzie O’Neill has joined Pitching In NPL West Division side Runcorn Linnets on a short-term loan.

O’Neill joined last season's beaten play-off finalists over the summer, having impressed for 1874 Northwich over the previous two seasons.

Formerly with Wigan Athletic's academy, he has also represented Northern Ireland at U17s level.

O'Neill has featured 11 times for Bamber Bridge in all competitions this season, with his most recent outing coming as a second half substitute during the club's 2-0 defeat at Guiseley in mid-January.

Linnets say their new forward will "bring pace and skill" to their frontline as they look to close the gap to runaway league leaders Leek Town in the fight for promotion.
